The Role:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Plumbing and Gas Assessor to join the Construction team. This role is ideal for an industry professional who is passionate about developing the next generation of skilled workers by delivering high-quality assessments and supporting apprentices and full-time learners in achieving their qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality assessment and support for Plumbing and Gas learners both in the workplace and in college.

  • Monitor and track learner progress to ensure timely achievement of qualifications.

  • Liaise with employers to coordinate assessment visits and ensure industry standards are being met.

  • Maintain accurate records in line with internal and awarding body requirements.

  • Provide constructive feedback to learners to support their development.

  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of practical assessments within the college’s training environments.

  • Support curriculum staff in ensuring quality assurance and continuous improvement in delivery.

Essential Requirements:

  • A recognised Level 3 qualification in Plumbing and Gas (or equivalent).

  • Current industry experience and competence in domestic plumbing and gas installation/maintenance.

  • Assessor qualification (e.g., A1, TAQA, or D32/D33).

  • Strong understanding of apprenticeship standards and NVQ assessment requirements.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel to employer sites.

Desirable:

  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent).

  • Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) qualification.

  • Experience delivering Functional Skills or embedding maths and English into assessments.
