SEND & Exam Access Arrangements Assessor
FE College based in Rotherham
Full-time (37 hours per week, all year round)
£31,264 – £32,199 per annum (Dependent on experience and qualifications)
Permanent

About the Role:

An FE College in Rotherham is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND & Exam Access Arrangements Assessor to join our Additional Learning Support (ALS) team. In this rewarding role, you will support learners with additional learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Your main responsibilities will involve assessing, identifying, and designing tailored support plans to help learners succeed academically and progress in their studies.

 

You will also ensure that students who require exam access arrangements are provided with the appropriate accommodations in line with JCQ regulations. This role will require close collaboration with learners, their families, schools, colleagues, and external agencies to ensure the best possible support for everyone.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess learners with SEND and learning difficulties to identify support needs and design effective support plans.
  • Work with a wide range of stakeholders including learners, families, external agencies, and internal teams to ensure appropriate support is provided.
  • Carry out specialist assessments for exam access arrangements, ensuring compliance with JCQ regulations.
  • Collaborate with the exams team, curriculum staff, and other professionals to support learners throughout their academic journey.
  • Provide one-to-one support to learners as required, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of SEND and related issues.
  • Experience working with learners with SEND and/or disabilities, particularly within an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and a sound understanding of the JCQ exam regulations.
  • A specialist SEND qualification and Certificate in Psychometric Testing (CPT3A), or equivalent, to meet JCQ requirements.
  • The ability to work with sensitivity, respect and confidentiality at all times.
