Position: Lecturer – English
Salary: £24,872 – £43,440 DOE

Are you a passionate and qualified teacher with strong experience in GCSE and Functional Skills (FS) English? We are looking for an inspiring Lecturer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the success of our students and the development of our innovative course offerings.
The Role:
As a Lecturer in English, you will:
- Provide inspiration, skill, and practical experience to students across our department’s courses.
- Contribute to the development of our course offerings, building on our innovative provision.
- Plan and develop lessons, including the creation of schemes of work.
- Develop and implement learner-centred assessment methods, focusing on constructive and developmental feedback for our students.
- Encourage, monitor, and report on the attendance, progress, and achievements of students.
- Ensure safe working environments for students and colleagues, enforcing health and safety standards in your area.
- Undertake personal coaching and pastoral responsibilities for designated students to support their development and future progression.
- Stay abreast of industry developments in your specialist area to ensure the relevance and continued employability of our students.
- Actively participate in continuing professional development around theory and practice within the education sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and developing lessons, including schemes of work.
- Implementing learner-centred assessment methods.
- Monitoring and reporting on student progress and achievements.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are met.
- Providing personal coaching and pastoral support to students.
- Keeping up-to-date with industry developments.
- Participating in professional development activities.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Our ideal candidate should:
- Hold a teaching qualification and have experience teaching in the Further or Higher Education sectors, OR
- Have a Level 3 qualification in a subject relevant to the course you will be delivering and be prepared to undertake a Further Education teaching qualification with our support, as part of our Passport to Teaching programme.
