Welfare Lead Advisor
FE College based in Leicester
Full-time, term time role
£16.05 per hour
Contract: Reviewed termly

Are you passionate about supporting students and promoting their well-being? Protocol are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Welfare Lead Advisor to join an FE College based in Leicester. This full-time, term-time position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on students’ lives by ensuring their welfare needs are met and safeguarding standards are ensured.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Maintain a register of students with welfare and medical needs (both permanent and temporary) and ensure that appropriate support arrangements are in place, including Care Plans and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs).
  • Become an integral part of the College’s Designated Safeguarding Leads team.
  • Work closely with external agencies such as CAMHS, Social Care, and parents/carers to provide comprehensive support for students.
  • Collaborate with Personal Progress Mentors, Heads of Studies, and subject staff to monitor and support students’ academic progress, offering guidance as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate Exam Access Arrangements are in place for students with welfare and medical needs.

 

Essential Requirements.

  • Proven experience in a welfare/support role.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding arrangements and practices.
  • Understanding of student support funding and benefits.
  • A commitment to confidentiality processes and working with external agencies.
  • The ability to work in a friendly, professional manner with both students and staff.

 

Desirable Qualifications & Experience.

  • An honours degree in a relevant field.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience in supporting students with a wide range of needs and working with diverse external agencies.
