Lecturer in Health and Social Care
Location: North Shields
Pay Rate: £25 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Contract: Temporary, full-time (ongoing basis, end date not yet confirmed)
A further education provider in North Shields is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lecturer in Health and Social Care with a healthcare specialism to cover a full teaching timetable on a temporary basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of Health and Social Care qualifications, including:
- AIM Access to Health Pathway (Level 3)
- TL Tech Qual Health
- NCFE Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care
- Provide engaging and effective lessons to learners at and above Access Level
- Support students with their academic and professional development
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure the best outcomes for learners
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to curriculum planning
Essential Requirements:
- Degree in a healthcare-related discipline or a degree with a Health and Social Care specialism
- Recognised teaching qualification
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent
- Relevant industrial/vocational experience in a healthcare or clinical role
- Recent teaching experience in Further Education or a professional setting
- Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Strong administrative, IT, and organisational skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and equality & diversity
Desirable:
- Health and Social Care qualification at Level 7
- Experience of delivering T-Level qualifications
- Assessor/Verifier qualification (or willingness to work towards)
- Experience of working with external agencies, employers, or partner organisations
Important Information:
- Due to the temporary nature of this role, applicants must have a current DBS on the update service
