Job Title: Safeguarding Coordinator
Location: Romford, East London
Working Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safeguarding Coordinator to join our team in Romford, East London. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students by managing and responding to safeguarding issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring compliance with all safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Respond to safeguarding concerns and manage complex cases effectively.
- Provide support and guidance to staff on safeguarding matters.
- Develop and deliver safeguarding training to staff and students.
- Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all safeguarding concerns and actions taken.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of safeguarding practices and policies.
- Lead on the development and implementation of safeguarding initiatives and strategies.
- Ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and child protection.
- Act as a point of contact for students, parents, and staff regarding safeguarding concerns.
Essential Criteria:
- Hold a Designated Safeguarding Lead Qualification.
- Experience working in an education environment.
- Proven experience in a safeguarding role, including responding to safeguarding issues.
- Experience in complex case management.
- Strong understanding of current safeguarding legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working in a Further Education (FE) College setting.
