Job Opportunity: Attendance Support Officer
Location: Southampton
Hours: Monday – Friday, Full-time, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid break)
Contract: Temporary, Ongoing
Protocol are working with an established college based in Southampton in their search for an organized and proactive Attendance Support Officer to help keep our students engaged and on track. If you’re a clear communicator who loves working in a busy environment, this could be the perfect role for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Absences: Process student absences, ensuring records are updated and all relevant staff are notified.
- Support Attendance Alerts: Track and follow up on students flagged for attendance concerns.
- Engage with Parents/Guardians: Contact families to discuss absences and ensure concerns are addressed.
- Administer Text Notifications: Send absence texts to parents/guardians of students under 18 and handle any queries.

- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for supporting students and working within a team
- DBS on the update service
