A leading further education college in the Yorkshire and Humber region is entering a significant phase of transformation and investment. As part of its strategic development, the college is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking leader to take on the role of Assistant Principal – Digital and Advanced Technology.

This is a senior leadership position with cross-college responsibility for shaping and delivering high-quality provision in engineering, construction, and digital technologies. The successful candidate will play a key role in aligning the college’s technical offer with industry needs and regional skills priorities.


The Role

As Assistant Principal, you will:

  • Lead the strategic development and operational delivery of curriculum in engineering, construction, and digital

  • Ensure programmes meet industry standards, drive positive learner outcomes, and respond to local economic needs

  • Strengthen relationships with employers, industry partners, and funding bodies

  • Identify and deliver growth opportunities, including commercial and partnership initiatives

  • Provide strong, visible leadership to curriculum managers and academic teams

  • Drive quality improvement and innovation across technical areas


The Person

We are looking for a results-driven and credible leader with:

  • Proven senior management experience in further education or technical training

  • A strong track record of curriculum development and business growth

  • In-depth knowledge of the engineering and/or construction sectors

  • Experience working collaboratively with external stakeholders and employers

  • A clear understanding of funding streams, performance metrics, and quality assurance

  • The ability to lead teams through change and deliver measurable improvements
