A progressive and ambitious further education college in the Yorkshire and Humber region is undertaking a major phase of development. With significant investment in its people, provision, and partnerships, the college is focused on expanding its higher education offer to meet regional demand and national skills priorities.

As part of this strategic direction, we are recruiting a capable and forward-thinking Director of Higher Education to lead the college’s HE provision and ensure its continued growth, quality, and relevance.


The Role

As Director of Higher Education, you will:

  • Lead the strategic and operational management of all higher education programmes

  • Ensure compliance with OfS, QAA, awarding body, and university partner requirements

  • Develop and implement a HE strategy that aligns with regional priorities and student needs

  • Drive curriculum innovation, academic quality, and student experience

  • Strengthen relationships with university partners, awarding organisations, and industry stakeholders

  • Manage HE performance data, compliance reporting, and quality assurance processes


The Person

We are looking for a results-focused and knowledgeable HE leader with:

  • Substantial experience in managing higher education provision within FE or HE settings

  • Strong working knowledge of higher education quality assurance, compliance, and governance

  • Experience of working in partnership with universities and/or awarding bodies

  • A track record of improving academic standards, retention, achievement, and progression

  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills

  • A commitment to access, participation, and inclusive higher education
