About the Role
We are currently seeking a dependable and hands-on Facilities Maintenance Assistant to support the smooth running of our TSA Campus in Barking. This is a vital role within our facilities team, ensuring that our learning environment remains safe, functional, and welcoming for staff, students, and visitors.
You will work closely with the Site Manager and wider Estates team to carry out a range of duties that support the day-to-day operations of the campus.
Key Responsibilities
Your main duties will include:
- Porterage: Assisting with the movement of furniture, equipment, and supplies across the site.
- Furniture Installation: Assembling and installing office furniture as required.
- Room Setup: Preparing conference and meeting rooms for events, including layout and technical setup.
- Site Security: Responsible for unlocking and locking the site, including setting and disabling the intruder alarm system.
- Health & Safety: Participating in on-site Health & Safety training and adhering to all safety protocols.
- General Support: Providing ad-hoc support to the facilities and site management team as needed.
Desirable Skills & Experience
We are particularly interested in candidates who have:
- Experience working in a Further Education (FE) college or similar educational setting.
- A good understanding of the operational needs of an educational establishment.
- A proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and site security.
