Teaching and Curriculum Delivery:
A Full-Time Media Lecturer is required to join a leading FE College in East London. The ideal candidate will have experience with the University of the Arts London (UAL) curriculum, including support with Final Major Projects (FMPs). This role involves delivering a full-time timetable and participating in moderation activities. The candidate must have all necessary vetting completed and ready to go.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of media subjects, adhering to UAL curriculum standards.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that engage and inspire students.
- Provide support and guidance to students on their Final Major Projects (FMPs), ensuring they meet academic and creative standards.
Moderation and Assessment:
- Participate in the moderation of assessments to ensure consistency and fairness in grading.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to aid their academic and professional development.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment outcomes.
Student Support:
- Offer academic and pastoral support to students, addressing any issues that may impact their learning experience.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Administrative Duties:
- Complete all required administrative tasks related to teaching and assessment.
- Attend departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated with the latest developments in media education and industry practices.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
Requirements:
- A degree in Media or a related field.
- A teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) is required.
- Experience teaching Media at the FE level is desirable.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Child and Adult DBS on the update service (or willingness to undergo DBS check).
- Adult barred list check required due to the presence of a large SEN department on campus.
