Job Advertisement: SEND Lecturer

Position: SEND Lecturer
Location: Romford, East London
Contract Duration: Until June 2025, with potential extension for long-term maternity cover starting September 2025
Working Hours: 36 hours per week (25 hours teaching, 11 hours admin)
Timetable:

  • Monday to Friday:
  • 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Set up and planning
  • 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM: Teaching (Lunch break at 12:00 PM)
  • 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Admin
  • Wednesday: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Team meeting/training
  • Friday: Finish at 3:30 PM
  • Student Breaks: 10:20 AM – 10:40 AM and 2:00 PM – 2:10 PM

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Qualified teacher (PGCE, QTS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training qualification)
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering RARPA and setting SMART targets
  • Ability to plan and deliver sessions to SEND students working from E1-L1
  • Knowledge of EHCP and ILPs
  • Passionate about teaching

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of working in a FE College setting
  • Experience of working in an educational establishment

Requirements:

  • Recent DBS (within 3 months) and/or registered on the update service
