EHCP Coordinator
Rotherham
Full time – 37hrs per week
Temporary on-going initially until 30th April 2025
£14 – £16 per hour
The Role;
The EHCP coordinator will be employed within the Additional Learning Support Team and report directly to the Head of Additional Learning and High Needs Support. The post holder will work collaboratively with academic and support staff to ensure college compliance with the SEND Code of Practice for all learners studying within the college.
The primary function of this role is to coordinate the processes and procedures in line with the colleges duty for learners with Education Health and Care Plans studying at the college. To achieve this the post holder will require a high level of professionalism,
communication and personal skills. A background in SEND support and extensive knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice is essential.
In addition to a sound knowledge of SEND, High Needs and a broad range of health & medical related issues this role requires the postholder to possess a high level of professionalism, good verbal and written communication skills, an ability to accurately
record information in a timely manner, empathy and flexibility to meet the needs of a variety of learners. The post holder will also, in some cases, be the primary point of contact for learners and be required to work collaboratively with the wider college community to ensure that the Group meets its duty in terms of the SEND Code of Practice and Local Authority Graduated Response.
Have you got what it takes?
- Experience in supporting students with emotional and behavioral difficulties
- Experience and understanding of making safeguarding referrals
- Experience of working with young people and vulnerable adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
- A proven ability to plan, prepare & implement support programmes/assessments as and when required.
- A specialist qualification in relevant subject area i.e. one that enables further understanding and knowledge when identifying strategies to support learners ALS requirements to overcome barriers to learning
- A minimum Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy/Equivalent
