Student Support Worker
South Yorkshire
37 hours per week
Temporary until December 2024.
The role
The Learning Support Worker must be dynamic in their approach to re-engagement and should be able to demonstrate their behaviour management skills when working with young people with challenging behaviours. The post holder will work with groups of learners and individuals to ensure that they are able to access the college and the curriculum.
- To support learners with a range of complex and challenging behaviours to be successful in achieving their learning goals.
- To deliver support to learners in accordance with their individual support/learning plans.
- To enable learners to participate fully in teaching and learning activities.
- To support learners in classrooms, workshops or other working environments.
- To complete all required documentation accurately and completely.
- To enable learners to access all college facilities and services if possible.
- To support learners in all assessment activities, including examinations.
- To provide individual and group support to learners as required.
- To provide high quality written information for learners’ use
- To participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the service
- To participate in training and staff development activities in order to further improve the service offered to learners.
The person.
We are therefore seeking individuals that are passionate about support students and that have the relevant experience. The individual will have experience working with students or apprentices either in a college or an educational setting whilst being upbeat, motivational, and knowledgeable in the subject area in order to educate and inspire learners.
Have you got what it takes?

Relevant Level 2 qualification.

Level 3 Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards).

GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification).
