Riannon Seal – HR Partner at Brooklands College
What made you choose a career in FE?
Being able to give back and look out for the people who consistently go out of their way to make a difference in the lives of young people is so rewarding, and it makes what we do in HR worthwhile.
What do you love about your role?
No two days are the same, and I think many HR professionals could say that about their roles, but in FE, you just don’t know what you’re going to walk into. Some days are far more hectic than others, but it’s that variety that keeps it interesting!
What can be the biggest challenge?
This is actually showing how amazing a career in FE can be for those who are unsure about whether they want to step into the industry and getting the word out there about how many opportunities and career paths there are.
What’s your biggest aspiration in your role?
Just to keep making our college a lovely place to work – our entire Brooklands team plays a huge role in that, too!
Fun fact about you?
I’m full of really useless facts – great for quizzes, but not so great at 8:30 am on a Monday when the team is still finding its feet after the weekend!
After a busy week at your college, how do you wind down at the weekend?
I’m really into the restaurant scene – so I’m most likely eating my body weight in delicious food!
