Supported Learning Lecturer
Contract Type: Temporary ongoing (Until Permanent placement is made)
Hours: 30 hours per week (Mon – Fri)
Salary: £19 – £24 per hour
Location: Cambridgeshire-Based College
Job Description:
This role is perfect for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with SEN needs and who has a creative flair.
Job Duties:
- Lead and tutor a group of students with severe and moderate learning needs.
- Design and implement schemes of work, learning resources, and assessment schedules.
- Teach English and maths at Entry and Level 1, preparing students for functional skills qualifications.
- Identify and support the learning needs of students, including those with ADHD, ASC, and Asperger’s.
- Track and monitor students’ EHCP targets and support their progress.
- Collaborate with mentoring staff to adapt learning materials.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and professionals to ensure effective intervention strategies.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS) or equivalent.
- Level 4+ in Subject Specific Specialism or Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) L5 – L7.
- Substantial experience in supporting learning and teaching life skills, work skills, and entry-level maths and English.
- Enhanced DBS disclosure check required (On the Update Service).
- Experience in delivering and assessing accredited and non-accredited programmes (RARPA).
Desirable:
- Skills in Makaton.
- Qualifications in ASD.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Creative industries, drama, media, and English.
- Familiarity with Apple Mac computers and software (Photoshop, ProLogic).
- Confidence in teaching English from Entry 3 to GCSE.
