Job Title: Carpentry Assessor/Trainer (PT)

Location: East of England, Cambridgeshire-based College

Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time (22.5 hours per week)

Salary: £17,491 – £20,329 (£28,763 – £33,430 pro rata)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of learners, providing training and assessment both in college and at their place of work.
  • Conduct initial assessments to determine learner readiness and create individual learning plans.
  • Design and deliver training plans that develop learners’ knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
  • Work with employers to establish relevant activities and tasks for learners.
  • Ensure learners are prepared for Gateway and End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Provide ongoing support, advice, and guidance to learners and employers.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with college and awarding body standards.
  • Promote college values and ensure best practices are applied at all times.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 3 relevant vocational qualification and evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Level 3 TAQA or Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Qualifications (or equivalent).
  • Recent vocational experience or continuous professional development in a relevant industry.
  • Experience of working with apprentices and achieving targets.
  • Knowledge of current vocational qualification systems and experience with e-portfolios.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Proficient in IT and record-keeping.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends if required.
